Lottie & now her little fleur too

Charlotte (aka Lottie)

Someone that completely loves food going as far back as primary school. A 9 year olds work book with a pic of one’s self in a chef jacket. As a young child being told off constantly by mum for smelling my food, asking whats for dinner at lunch time or being at my nona's side while she's making the family spaghetti bolognese recipe...it all makes sense now of course. Chef college from 16 at Westminster Kingsway Victoria, straight into the Gavroche and other Michelin starred restaurants a couple of years then onto a new world of nutritional food working with the very talented Nick Broad (Sadly not with us anymore)…Looking after professional athletes diets, needs and wants to then being awakened by the street food whilst travelling this big wide world a solo backpacker. Vietnam blowing me away culinary, New Zealand landscape and glorious people, South America for the Patagonian lamb, Peruvian wonders, Nepal for the mountains and happiness for the simple pleasures in life. Were not who we are by money but by experiences and what we have learned from others. Thank you to all those who crossed paths because it gave me the passion and drive to go for the dream…

March 2018 creating Grub and Gumption… The dream began..

A place to feel comfortable and feel the love, not only from the food but the team too. You vibe is your tribe we say…

Timing is everything in life..

My little girl Fleur followed 3 months later. BEST addition to life x

Why Grub and Gumption?

This question is still asked 4.5 years later. Some one once told me ‘ you’ve got real Gumption’ . My first food blog 10 years ago was called ‘Taste the Gumption’ . I couldn’t call Grub this… It needed humility in little East Preston village and coming from London ‘ Grub ‘ was wherever the food was at. So theres the combo. Grub and Gumption it was called x
